Cruising the Nile was definitely something I’d like to redo once again. Time in Jordan was as great as the time spent in Cairo. The food in both countries is delicious.Thank you for making our 3rd anniversary so good. We boarded Movenpick MS Darakum in Cairo, a nice boat with comfortable cabins, and a large sundeck with a large swimming pool.

River Tosca: Splendours of Egypt and the Nile
It's likely that your cruise line will provide ample bottled water for you, so you probably won't need a reusable water bottle. Cruise lines sailing the Nile River include Viking, Avalon Waterways, Abercrombie & Kent, Sanctuary Retreats, AmaWaterways, Movenpick, eWaterways, Uniworld, Sonesta Nile Cruises, Nile Exploration, Oberoi and Travcoa. When you're cruising the Nile, you have the unique opportunity to witness and explore historical locations with ease. Here are some of the highlights you could see while on any of the above cruises on the Nile River.
There are the small and luxurious dahabiyas, which are gorgeous wooden boats powered by the wind and featuring enormous sails that dance in the breeze. They can be found with all of the finest, luxurious amenities but also hearken back to the early days of Egyptian travel. Wooden decks, open-air dining and lounging areas at the top decks, and elegant staterooms are all part of the experience. Explore the ship, and you’ll find a restaurant, bar, and lounge, where you can enjoy meals and drinks.
If you’re planning a trip to visit Egypt, of course, you’ll have to visit the Nile River! It’s the longest river in the world, spanning 11 different countries, and is incredibly important to Egyptians for both sustenance and transportation. And the best way to see the Nile is from aboard a luxury cruise sailing between the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan. Enjoy a tranquil sailing and explore unique temples & tombs not on your average Nile River cruise route onboard a Dahabiya, most exclusive and luxurious way to experience the river. The Treasures of Egypt tour was an absolutely amazing experience that left me speechless. Our guide was fantastic, the accommodations and meals were fantastic, and the Nile River cruise was unforgettable.
Traditionally, a Nile cruise was considered the centerpiece of an Egyptian vacation, evoking romantic images of idyllic days spent drifting in luxury between the country's ancient sights. In Victorian times, a Nile cruise was the only way to see some of Egypt's most outstanding ancient temples. Modern visitors have more options available to them; and while Nile cruises are still popular, some find themselves put off by the idea of being confined on a boat for the majority of their vacation. The river is much busier now than it was in the past, and with more than 200 cruise boats plying their trade, there are lines to get through the locks and to dock at each disembarkation point.

The drinks were made exceptionally well and the entire time was so relaxing. Highly recommend this cruise, we had an excellent time with our family over Christmas. We had a very special service by Memphis Tours, as well as with its guides, our tireless concierges were all extremely professionally competent and with great empathy. The hotels, and the transfer vehicles were always very clean and organized, exceeded expectations every day, not missing anything, not even water.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was exceptional. The daily excursions were led by such a great guide who provided fascinating insights into Egypt's rich history. The Treasures of Egypt tour was an incredible experience that exceeded our expectations.
Most of the cruise boats are four-deck, rectangular shaped vessels that feature open-air upper decks, complete with shade canopies and comfortable seating. Passenger cabin decks hold an average of 120 to 150 people, though some are much smaller. If you want an intimate experience on the Nile with more control over your itinerary, consider taking a private cruise on the Nile. Its suites are stylish and contemporary, and the decor throughout the ship has an understated elegance, showcasing Egyptian ornaments and artwork.
When it comes to food, the quality tends to remain the same; although travelers who are on luxury Nile River cruises may find more options than those who are on a budget. Buffets are a large part of the food-service provided on cruises. Many of the dishes are authentic, local cuisine with Western dishes making appearances as well. With shorter vacations, there tend to be fewer amenities than longer, more expensive cruise tours. This is because short trips lead to less time spent on the boat. In the same way, longer cruise tours will spend more time traveling leading to more amenities, a fact which travelers should consider when budgeting.
